Visually it is not far removed from the Callaway FT-iZ driver of , which in turn was the successor of the square Callaway FT-i driver. But know going in that the FT-i design will keep your ball in play, but not produce miraculous distance on bad swings. Modified version of properietary VFT Technology in which face thicknesses are designed specifically to maximise performance under the new USGA characteristic time test, resulting in a larger, more spin robust face for increased ball speed on shots hit all over the face. I had been using a Hibore 9. The angles of the driver make alignment a snap. It still ended up in the fairway, but my driving distance was only yards. I can also fade and draw quite easily if needed although it does a bit more english if you want to shape it than most other clubs.

I will trade this driver in for a loss I am afraid for something else. Buy it thank me later. What is the difference between the two years?

Callaway FT-i/FT-5 Driver Review (Clubs, Review) – The Sand Trap

The amount of material used in the titanium cup-face area appears to have been reduced, as the cup area extends less into the cusion and crown areas than it does on the FT I shot a 78 one week ago, i now have chances at birdies as opposed to always being short off the tee and hoping for bogey, hands down the best club i have ever put in my bag, i am now a Be assertive in this request.

However if cant fix your slice try the ft-i.

That said, clean shots travelled yards for me. Yes, the FTi is pricey, but there are good deals on ebay from reputable e-retailers. The FT-5 comes standard with a inch, gram Fujikura E shaft that has mid torque and a mid kickpoint, available in light, regular and stiff flexes. The cc head has been manufactured with a longer, wider and hotter face for more confidence at address.

I gave the straight FT-i a try on a demo day a few weeks ago. Which one is easier to shape the ball? Went calladay a 10 deg neutral and wow, is this thing forgiving and long. I hit the second on the heel and the ball leaked a bit to the right.

In order to make a driver ‘super-forgiving’ you czllaway to increase the MOI and that means getting the weight low and back. But the FT-i has a shorter, no-sock headcover with a magnetic closure system that also sports a black-and-orange color scheme.

By the 11th hole three of our foursome were hitting it. My tendency is to hit it square to off-the-toe.

Callaway Big Bertha Fusion 13.5* Driver Senior

I am consistently hitting flight drives. This club is amazing. BTW- I typically hit my drives ….

Purchased the BB Fusion with the Was fitted for and purchased a Big Bertha Fusion with the I did also notice that on mishits the ball was no where near as long a regular drives. But what a round. However that aside I have never in my life been able to push the yard limit on my sweet spot hit drives. Less dispersion and side spin for me.

Dispersion is also much tighter. All I can say is Wow! So I tee it a little lower and back a little in my stace and problem fixed. I went with the FT-i, because I just kept hitting it in the middle of the fairway so often.

However, a bucket of balls, changes to my set up, a few explatives and alas I began to see a flicker of light at the palatable end of the range. The only thing I can callaaway is that the lighter weight in comparison to my old driver was causing me to close the face of the FT at impact. I bought an FT-5 and have not had the asstounding results perported here. With this club all you got to do is the basics.
